On Day 5 of my 13 Days of Halloween I’m combining several of my favorite things, dogs, football and Halloween. Fortunately, Bruin was home for the weekend, so I had an ever-eager canine model willing to ingratiate me as long as there were dog treats in my pocket. In case you haven’t met Bruin, you can read his story here.
As a little background for readers who are unfamiliar with collegiate apparel, black and white houndstooth has become the defacto pattern of the University of Alabama. So much so that the University and others are constantly waging trademark war over its use. The pattern was a favorite of Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, shown here, with his signature houndstooth hat.
So what happens when your grand-dog is home for the weekend, BAMA is playing Texas A&M, and it’s Halloween season? We pimp our pets BAMA-style.
Here’s Bruin doing his best Bear Bryant imitation. Definitely brought his game face! A mighty good impersonation, don’t you think?
No one shows their BAMA spirit better than Big Al…
… and this cutie pie, Nola, is rocking’ her very own Big AL regalia. Look at those eyes and ears!
Nola has quite a game day wardrobe; here she is with her very own Amari Cooper jersey. Rumor has it that she has surpassed Amari’s all time receiving record with the tennis ball in her backyard. Nola’s proud parents are Brandon and Casey whose marriage will be tested next weekend at the BAMA-Tennessee game. Do you guys have a house divided costume for Nola?
Getting back to Halloween, Bruin agreed to model another costume to help promote the blog. This wasn’t his favorite because he said it made him look too much like a girly man.
Since Halloween’s going to the dogs, here’s some more great dog costumes from others that are too good not to include.
Happy HOWL-o-Ween!
Once again you outdid yourself Cheri!! I loved seeing Bruin
All dressed up for game day. He looks much happier as the Bear. Nola is a cutie too and I hope her parents survive the week!
Thanks so much for the compliment. Bruin was tired when he did the clown session; his primary interest was the sofa! Maybe a couch potato costume would have been more appropriate at the time.
